SECRET BAILOUT

Canadians have had a false sense of security in our Banks. There was a $114 billion “secret bailout” during the 2008-2010 financial crisis. Read more by Peter Henderson May 1st, 2012. Financial support for the big banks cost $3,400 per Canadian. My small ball Economic Plan will provide comfort for all Canadians.

SMALL BALL ECONOMIC APPROACH

In the sport of baseball, small ball is an informal term for an offensive strategy.
I want to take small deliberate methodical steps to create opportunities for Canadians.
Many small groups of Canadians working together, can bring about real change.

DISTRACTIONS

Exonerate Vice-Admiral Mark Norman – Look after Sears employees’ pension issues – Settle with Canada Post – Stop Revenue Canada’s attack on Canadian Citizens – Balance the Budget – Cancel Meng Wanzhou’s bail, set her free.

USE CANADIAN FORCES

Use our Canadian Forces to fight forest fires in Canada and acquire Water Bombers for the Air Force to fly. Thousands of residents are being forced from their homes. Ongoing wildfires are damaging our rivers and streams. The Provinces of Canada cannot solve the forest fire problems alone. A burning question: We have everything we need to save the planet so why don’t we. Wildfires are prompting major jumps in lumber prices.

DENTAL

Free Dental for Children & Seniors – Make dental work 100% tax deductible. I think providing Dental Care far out weighs Nationalizing Pharmacare. They are estimating $26 Billion annual cost for Pharmacare. My dental program cost is $5 Billion. 85% of young Canadians will have a problem with their wisdom teeth. 60% of oral cancers go undetected because of the high cost of dental checkup. If you have had a problem in your lifetime, show some empathy. We are spending more money not having oral health programs, the use of antibiotics has skyrocketed. Vote Terry Grimwood, support his small ball economic program. We want everyone healthy to work.

REVENUE CANADA

What happens when you put good people in an evil place? Normal healthy revenue Canada employees behave according to social roles assigned to them. Employees in positions of power use and abuse their authority. Employees in subordinate positions will submit to authority. It is the power of Institutional forces rather than the disposition of employees that leads to evil behaviour.

CLIMATE CHANGE. CO2 – METHANE #1

Canada post employees have put forward some excellent ideas to help us reach our climate goals. I am really impressed with the many fine ideas people are sharing with me. Perhaps the carbon tax has helped us focus, but we have to stop drowning in debt. Cap gas and diesel prices at $1 per litre in every province. I believe we will meet our targets outlined in the Paris accord. I believe I know how to do that, and collectively we can enjoy the ride. You don’t have to apologise for driving a car or truck today. Don’t find fault today find a solution. Take responsibility. Today Canada needs Water Bombers not Bombers of mass destruction.

CLIMATE CHANGE CO2 – METHANE #2

All Canadians need to be Engaged. To meet our climate goals in British Columbia we must build a bridge to the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. The Confederation Bridge to PEI (longest bridge in the world) saves 16 million liters of fuel annually and the release of 44 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Climate: I have the ideas and 10-year plan to meet the Paris Climate goals.
– 30% in first four years-21 Megatonnes.
– 40% in second four years-28 Megatonnes.
– 100% in ten years-21 Megatonnes.
– TOTAL = 70 Megatonnes
I have learned to see in my lifetime how much my own fate depends on the actions of other people. I believe all Canadians will be eager to take over a fair share of responsibility for climate welfare.

RCMP

I support the RCMP having a Union. The government of Quebec is fighting this. The Quebec Government is presently in the courts because they want the RCMP to be separate in Quebec. They do not support one Canada. They want Quebec to be Separate. We see French speaking RCMP officers every day in BC (cool). Do they want them all to stay home?

CANADA FOR SALE

The Burnaby South By-election Conservative Candidate accuses NDP leader of cribbing a decade old Tory policy for his new Housing Plan. Canada Fresh Independent Candidate Terry Grimwood is accusing the Conservative Party of stealing an NDP policy in Quebec. Both parties want to give Quebec autonomy over Federal Tax Revenues in an outrageous bidding war for Quebec votes. Canada is a Federation of Provinces, not an association of sovereign states. We are a family. In every Province, our taxes are paid to the Federal Government, ONE TAX RETURN except in Quebec.

BANK OF CANADA

The Federal Government loaned the five big banks 114 billion dollars less than 10 years ago. The bank of Canada interest rate hikes raises billions of dollars in revenue for the Federal Government. The same rate hikes cost every Canadian citizen thousands of dollars annually. Damage to global trade could reduce living standards permanently according to the Bank of Canada Governor. The bank of Canada has normal insights with the latest rate hike, but I don’t believe things are nearly as rosy as the bank of Canada believes.

BILLIONS IN REVENUE

Liberal’s banking on interest rates going up. Rate hikes supply billions in revenue. The rate hikes hurt average Canadians to the tune of thousands of dollars annually, promising to help the middle class while praying for rate hikes. We live in a totally unpredictable world. We must not increase interest rates. Bank of Canada Governor’s intuition can not be trusted in the present world environment. I play chess. Chess is an extreme example of a regular environment.

SUPPLY MANAGEMENT

Canadians need better value for their products. Supply management in the dairy industry has been a hot issue. The financial post had a story about how our big dairy industry had to import butter. They didn’t run out of butter, but more specifically,
they ran out of the cream used to churn it just before the Christmas baking rush. The Dairy Commission, a Crown Corporation granted a permit to import 4000 tonnes of cream from New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, and Uruguay. 4000 tonnes of cream equals 8.8 million pounds of butter. If you have supply management, it’s up to them to ensure that there is supply.

HOUSING

You may have heard my STATEMENT that housing is a Municipal responsibility. I was elected twice to Municipal Government and also worked as a licenced residential builder and designer, I have first hand experience. All Canadians should be treated equally. You can’t wave taxes for one group of citizens and not the others. The biggest obstacle to affordable rental housing is Revenue Canada. They require a developer to pay the tax as if they were selling to a third-party stranger (self supply) before being allowed to rent. Revenue Canada will determine value for tax payable by the builder. One of the best stories I’ve heard for helping the housing crisis was in the National Post on the 14th of April 2018: Churches to aid in BC housing was a story about the united church in British Columbia stepping forward to help to address the provinces affordable housing crisis by offering up some of its properties for development. Teri Harrison with the BC Conference of the United Church of Canada said aging infrastructure and shrinking congregation’s have led the church to look for ways to redevelop its properties.
They wanted to do something innovative to figure out how to repurpose their properties. Their faith teaches them to serve those in need here and now.

HOUSING – MY RECOMMENDATIONS TO BURNABY

Look at the Whistler Affordable Housing Model. It is below-market value and free of speculation. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Use municipal land to get started. Hire local builders. Rezone land for rental. Look at Lane Way Housing in single
family zones. Encourage more housing at BCIT. Build above parking. Use economical modular design. Build 200 sq. ft./400 sq. ft. studios. Rental only covenants on land. JUST START, you’ll have rentals in 12 months. Your new Mayor Mike Hurley will not let you down. Co-op housing has been around since the 1970’s. You have examples of it in your community, just copy that proforma. Burnaby has $1.3 billion in the bank. Invest a few million for 24 months and solve your problem. You don’t need the Federal Governments help.
